It is noteworthy that before the Taliban took over the country, india had invested about 3 billion dollars in the country for various development projects. During the previous regime, india had contributed heavily to the construction of the 42MW Salma Dam in afghanistan, the 218-km Jaranj-Telaram highway, and the Afghan parliament in Kabul. The built Stor Palace was restored and opened. It is noteworthy that india built a large hospital in Kabul.
