In 'Spider-Man No Way Home', Zendaya would be saying, "Expect Disappointment, and you will never be disappointed" and that is what I was thinking from Siva Karthikeyan's Don before entering the theater. I was absolutely expecting some cringeworthy stuff and unexpectedly I got a delightful treat from Siva Karthikeyan. Chakravarthi is a last bench student and he does all notorious things and becomes 'Don' in the college.
SJ Suryah who is form Disciplinary Committee tries to control him and what happens in the end is definitely known, but SK's humour and Anirudh's
music makes this Don a delightful watch. Of course, the
movie has cringe-worthy moments and they really test our patience and if they are trimmed, this would have been another
blockbuster like 'Doctor'.
priyanka Arul Mohan's
romantic track never gels along with the story and especially the
school portions are completely over cringe stuff.
Samuthirakani gives a solid performance similar to 7G Rainbow Colony
father and he delivers it in the climax portion as well. SJ Suryah as always does a meaty
job and he gets applause as well. Anirudh's musical score is the biggest asset and we are saying this for the nth time and he shoulders
tamil cinema as a pillar always. Debutant
director Cibi Chakravarthi sticks to Siva Karthikeyan's strengths and plays it accordingly and he has delivered it too.
Overall, 'Don' is a Delight from Siva Karthikeyan
