2816 Child Marriages Stopped in Tamil Nadu alone!

According to a policy statement released by the Department of Social Welfare and Women's Rights, child marriages in tamil Nadu have been prohibited until march 2022. The tamil Nadu Legislative assembly debated the Department of Disability, Social Welfare, and Women's Rights' funding request today. minister Geetha jeevan reacted to the situation. Earlier, during question time, the ministers answered to members' inquiries.
The following is a policy notice from the Department of Social Welfare and Women's Rights for Persons with Disabilities:

> The government of india passed the Child marriage Prohibition Act in 2006.
The State government of tamil Nadu designed and enacted the tamil Nadu Child marriage Prevention Rules in 2009.
> Men must be 21 years old to marry, while women must be 18 years old.
> Under this Act, child marriage is a crime that can be prosecuted immediately and cannot be released on bond.
> Child marriage is void and can be declared null and void.

> There is a legal framework in place to provide care and housing for children who have been married as youngsters.
> In order to prevent underage weddings, courts may issue restraining orders.
> For indulging in child marriage, men over the age of 18 data-face up to two years in prison or a fine of up to Rs 1 lakh, or both.
