Govt Employees Should Not Use Cell Phones in Working Hours

The high court has ordered the government to issue guidelines restricting the use of cell phones by office workers during working hours within four weeks. In the Trichy health Regional office, DS radhika worked as a Superintendent. He was accused of videotaping a smartphone at work and then attacking a senior officer and guard who had taken the phone away from him. On 29.1.2022, the director of the tamil Nadu health Transport Department ordered Radhika's dismissal based on this. radhika filed a suit at the high court to have the order quashed.

Following this, Judge SM Subramaniam issued an order stating that government employees' usage of cell phones during working hours is becoming the norm. Using a cell phone and shooting video on a cell phone during office hours is a breach of company policy. Employees should not be allowed to use their cell phones for personal reasons at the workplace. In the event of an emergency, officers may leave the office with your permission and enable you to use your cell phone.

As a result, the tamil Nadu health Secretary, director of Public health, director of Disease Control, and director of health Transport shall issue directives and circulars to all authorities governing the use of cell phones and cell phone cameras in government offices during working hours. The Civil Servants Code of Conduct 1973 states that any violation of that order or circular will result in disciplinary action. During working hours in government offices, guidelines should be set to ban the use of cell phones and cell phone cameras.
