Nipah Virus enters Tamil Nadu?

Coronavirus infection is spreading fast in kerala, the neighboring state of tamil Nadu, and on average, more than 31,000 people are infected with corona every day. Similarly, the impact of the Nipah virus outbreak is felt in kerala and so far the positive cases have surged to 9. There has been a huge noise regarding the outspread of the Nipah Virus in tamil Nadu as well, especially in Coimbatore.

Coimbatore district of tamil Nadu is close to kerala and routes from coimbatore to kerala, including Valayaru and Velandavalam, are important. Many people come to coimbatore daily through these roads and those coming to coimbatore from kerala are required to have e-registration, corona negative certificate, or proof of corona vaccination, the district administration advised.

Coimbatore collector who met the press said, "The spread of corona infection in coimbatore has come down as various preventive measures are being taken as per the government guidelines. Those coming into coimbatore from kerala, who are not certified, are allowed inside after undergoing a corona examination at the district boundary. We also made sure that Nipah Virus hasn't entered coimbatore so far and also in the state of tamil Nadu."
