For the past few days, there is an upward trajectory of fresh COVID cases in 8 states and this has been a huge problem once again. The Union Ministry of health and Family Welfare has already issued a warning to all the 8 states to impose a lockdown as the R-Rate is increasing above 1 and the pandemic is raging in those states.
This R-factor is a significant problem as the new COVID wave is caused due to the delta variant and even before the third wave hits us, the second wave is still persisting in our country. So far, 44 districts are reporting a higher positivity rate and the delta-variant second wave of COVID is still not yet over. One of the niti aayog Members said, "The R-factor should be below 0.6 and if it has gone above 1, then the virus is spreading faster and it is going to be a big problem.
When the R-factor is 2, it means one positive person infects two others and it is going to be a headache." So far, only andhra pradesh and maharashtra states are showing a promising declining trend in positive cases and other 8 states are showing an increasing trend and this is something to worry about and the state Governments should impose an immediate lockdown.
