Born on march 17, 1975, at the kalyani Hospital in chennai as the youngest son of the late Dr Rajakumar and Parvathamma. raj was accompanying Puneet and his sister purnima for the shooting of most of their films. Thus began an association with art from an early age.Sinipayana - Child Artist
Puneeth made his debut on the screen in 1976 when he was six months old with the film 'Dadakke Doddakkum'. He later starred in films like Sanadi Appanna, "Ammayi Takka Maga", "Vasantha Geeta", "Bhoomwantha Bhagavanam" and "Bhagavanthavaru".Puneet received a National Award for his performance in the film. In 2002, puri began her second innings in kannada cinema with Jagannath directed 'Appu'. The film was a huge success.
