Peugeot finds great potential in India

paris sources have stated that the PSA Group is working on a strategy to make another entry into india, a market where the French carmaker has said that it sees great potential. It was stated that the company has initially entered india about two decades ago in partnership with local automaker Premier Automobiles, but made a quick exit as the only model it manufactured here, the peugeot 309, didn’t find many buyers. 

 

Meanwhile a company spokesman has said that it has now started relooking at the market under chief executive Carlos Tavares and it is likely to finalize an india partnership by 2018 and is planning to start manufacturing cars in india by 2021. As per report it was stated that the company is anticipated to tie-up with an indian partner on the manufacturing front, however having explored deeper manufacturing and platform strategy partnership with Tata Motors and mahindra, the PSA Group is likely to go for the contract manufacturing route.
