Women are no longer restrained to the passenger seat. From heading layout and engineering teams to strolling main car businesses, their function inside the world of motoring has developed drastically.
Professor P. Rajalakshmi, head of the technology Innovation Hub on Independent Navigation (TiHAN) and a professor at the indian Institute of technology, hyderabad, is one such pioneer who has made a great contribution with the aid of heading a team of over one hundred engineers to design and manufacture a 14-seater and 6-seater driverless travel motors or a self-reliant vehicle very much like the driverless one pointed out by the tesla automobile agency owned by billionaire Elon Musk.
The motors, launched in august 2023, seek to ferry humans in a chosen direction through the internal roads of the institute in Kandi village in sangareddy district of Telangana.
"IIT hyderabad is operating on independent navigation technologies. These are absolutely autonomous cars and are generally supposed for off-road means inclusive of agriculture or mining. The vehicles ferry not only most effective college students but all of us who enter the institute's campus," Ms. Rajalakshmi told NDTV.
The four-wheeled electric-powered cars have been developed via the engineers at TiHAN, an era innovation hub founded via IIT-Hyderabad and sanctioned with the aid of the branch of technological know-how and technology underneath the national assignment on interdisciplinary cyber-physical structures.

The trip services at the driverless automobile are provided six times a day—three every morning and afternoon. Ms. Rajalakshmi says the check automobile has run for over 15,000 kilometers ferrying over 10,000 humans in the IIT campus.
Asked about the opportunity of those vehicles being driven on the road, Ms. Rajalakshmi said, "The (Union) authorities are arising with policies on the independent vehicle era.
