The empowerment program will help women become self-employed and self-sufficient. Under the Samarth program, 20 per cent of space will be allotted to women in the skill development training program. The program will focus on enthusiastic newcomers and women who are already in the business. In 2022-23, 7500 women will benefit from this scheme.

Meanwhile, Glory Swaroop, director of the National Center for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, said in a report to the federal government on women entrepreneurs that the share of women in micro, small and medium enterprises is currently 12 percent. This should be raised to 25 per cent within the next 3 years.

Trouble getting credit

There are 6.70 crore small and medium enterprises operating in India. Of these, only 80 lakh companies are run by women. The biggest challenge women data-face is finance.

If a woman entrepreneur applies for a loan for business development it is rejected, or the loan is denied. Many women have been running start-ups for the past few years without the help of any bank loans. ”
