A sensational decision by the center- to raise women's legal marriage age!!
The center has made a crucial decision, specifying how long it will take for girls to get married. At present, the minimum age of marriage for boys is 21 years and for girls, it is 18 years. However, there has been a nationwide debate on this for some time now. Requests are pouring in to bridge this gap between boys and girls. There are arguments that the minimum age of marriage for girls is becoming a barrier to their careers.

In addition, it can lead to health problems with early pregnancy. That is why many have demanded that the minimum age for marriage for girls be raised to 21 years. According to government sources, the Union cabinet has approved a proposal to increase the age of marriage for women from 18 to 21 years. The decision was reportedly taken at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday. It seems that the decision has been made to amend the law as necessary. It is learned that Modi first raised the issue in his speech from the red Fort on august 15 last year during the Independence Day celebrations. Modi suggested that to protect girls from malnutrition, they should get married at the right time. Recently, prime minister Narendra Modi said in his Independence Day address last year that there was a need to protect girls from health problems and malnutrition among young women. To this end, the Justice Commission set up a task force in june last year.

Based on the recommendations, this task force conducted surveys across the country and collected views. Has taken a look at all of them and made some proposals recently. Girls are advised to be at least 21 years old by the time they first become pregnant. In addition, the task force said that marrying a girl to a 21-year-old would have a positive impact on the family financially, socially, and health-wise. Credible sources said the proposals have recently been approved by the Union Cabinet. It is learned that the Center is planning to amend the Prevention of Child marriage Act, Special marriage Act, and Hindu marriage Act soon.
