In 2019, the suicide of v G Siddartha who is the founder of Cafe coffee Day which is India's largest chain of coffee shops had shocked the whole people of India. malavika Hedge, wife of Siddartha was next appointed as the CEO of Cafe coffee Day Enterprises Ltd in 2020 December. All odds were totally against her but yet she managed to create a beautiful success story in her path.
It was believed in Siddartha's last letter that he had committed suicide due to debt crisis and loss of business. However, the police suspected that he had committed suicide. Because he had many opportunities to repay the loan as the value of his property was many times more than the loan he had purchased. So his death is still a controversial one.

Many thought that the coffee Day company would disappear after Siddhartha's death. There was the question of who would continue to run the company after him. Because the people in the company were talking that the company could not recover because of the accumulated debt. But malavika Hegde has broken all the talks and achieved it as a single woman.
In december 2020, Malvika took over as CEO of coffee Day. From that day on she worked tirelessly for the growth of the company. In 2019, coffee Day had a debt of over Rs 7,000 crore. This is a huge burden for malavika who was in great grief of losing her husband. But she never gave up and continued to work hard.

Due to her full hard work and effort, coffee Day's debt burden will be reduced to Rs 1,731 crore by 2021. This is a great achievement. Malavika's goal is to make a multi-billion dollar company without the debt burden. Following in the footsteps of her late husband, Malavika's dream has become to move coffee day shops to every corner of the country. She set an example for all people who are stranded in their business, small or big.
