The himachal pradesh Legislative assembly will consider legalizing cannabis cultivation in the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh. Cannabis cultivation can be legalized for medicinal use. Revenue minister Jagat Singh Negi in the himachal pradesh government will present a report in this regard on Friday. For this, a committee was constituted on april 26, 2023 under the chairmanship of the Revenue Minister. This committee had studied the issue of legalizing the cultivation of cannabis (cannabis) for medicinal, scientific and industrial purposes in the state. Please note that charas will not be included in it.


The report has been presented before the House
After the formation of the committee, Kangra, Chamba, Mandi, Kullu, Solan and Sirmaur districts of himachal pradesh were visited. Meetings were also held in all these districts. Apart from this, the committee visited various states. These included Uttarakhand, madhya pradesh and Union Territory of Jammu. The report prepared by the committee was presented before the house on 19 september 2023. To implement the recommendation made by this committee and prepare its road map, a committee was constituted on 9 january 2024 under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh. Its meeting was held on 20 June. In this meeting, technical papers have been received from Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar himachal pradesh Agricultural university Palampur and Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Horticulture and Commerce university on medicinal, scientific and horticultural purposes of cannabis.


What did minister Vikramaditya Singh say?
Himachal Pradesh minister Vikramaditya Singh said that a bill legalizing cannabis cultivation will be introduced. He said that we have benefited from our excise policy. A bill legalizing cannabis cultivation will be introduced. It will be grown legally. The debt is increasing continuously. Everyone should try to bring the state back on the path of progress.
