The hit Coke Studio pakistan song blockbuster has been given a nostalgic makeover featuring the legendary Mohammed Rafi’s vocals. Since its release two months ago, blockbuster has captured hearts with its vibrant punjabi beats and fusion of traditional folk rhythms. Now, the latest groundbreaking rendition with Rafi’s vocals is turning up heads showcasing how technology can bring classic voices back to life in a fresh and exciting way.
Created by musician Anshuman Sharma, the video features singer Aditya Kalway performing a blockbuster song in a nostalgic 70s style which is then transformed into Rafi’s iconic voice by using AI. To enhance the experience, the video uses the footage from veteran actor Dharmendra’s classic track Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana, sung by Rafi. Here, Rafi’s AI-generated vocals are synchronised with Dharmendra’s video creating a mesmerising vintage charm.
Naturally, the video became a viral hit, capturing the attention of Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan, also known as Xulfi, the producer of Blockbuster. He shared his excitement, saying, “Saw this in the afternoon. Just wanted to be mentally free to comment on something this precious. What a time to be alive. Even the unseen dreams are now possible. Never did I ever imagine that I’ll be able to hear Mohd Rafi sing the melody and words that we wrote. It’s truly magic. You guys are magic Anshuman Sharma Aditya Kalway. It’s INCREDIBLY done!
