For the years 2023–2024, the haryana government will implement a new liquor regulation that will let staff members of sizable corporate offices to partake in low-alcohol beverages on the premises. The haryana council of ministers adopted the policy, which allows beer, wine, and ready-to-drink drinks to be consumed and owned in corporate buildings with at least 5,000 employees and one lakh square feet of covered space.
According to the policy, corporate offices that satisfy the required standards will be given a special licence (L-10F). The cafeteria or restaurant in the office should have a minimum floor space of 2,000 square feet. The licence will be granted upon payment of a security deposit of 3 lakh rupees and an annual fixed charge of 10 lakh rupees. The authorised location cannot be a roadway or have access to public spaces. The policy's requirements should be followed while buying spirits stock.
The L-10F licence will be issued by the collector (excise) with the consent of the excise and taxes commissioner, and it will be renewed by the deputy excise and taxation commissioner. The regulation also increases the cost of temporary licence applications (L-12AC) for event planners who want to serve alcohol at performances, exhibits, and other comparable occasions. The price has increased in accordance with the number of participants, with the maximum rate for events with more than 25,000 guests set at Rs. 10 lakh per event, per day.
