Discovered by social media feature tester Jonah Manzano, the new tool—dubbed “Write with Meta AI”—aims to help users craft comments under instagram posts. A small pencil icon appears next to the text box, allowing users to access AI-generated comment suggestions.
How does it work? Meta AI analyzes the content of the post—such as a photo of a person smiling with a thumbs-up gesture in their living room—and then provides three possible comments, like:
“Cute living room setup.”
“Love the cozy atmosphere.”
“Great photo shoot location.”
If none of the suggestions feel right, users can refresh for more options.
This isn’t the first time Meta has experimented with AI-powered social interactions. The company previously introduced AI-generated characters with unique personalities, but they were ultimately scrapped due to user backlash.
