X To Soon Hide Live Streaming Feature Behind Paywall

X has not specified yet the time by which this change will be enforced, however, whenever it does, it will become the only social media platform to charge users for them to host a live stream.

After the takeover of twitter by Elon Musk and its rebranding as X, the platform has been rolling out new features to enhance user experience and make the platform open for everyone. Recently it made 'Likes' private meaning you won'tbe able to know how many people have liked someone's post. Now, it is about to bring another addition to the list of features.

If we have to put it in better words, then it isn't bringing a new feature ratheris increasing the exclusivity of an existing feature. Elon Musk's X has said that it will soon make live stream exclusive to Premium subscribers.

X To Become The Only Platform To Charge Users To Go Live

In the past few months, X has been adding some new features and at the same time, it is also locking some features such as the edit post feature or the one through which we used to share long-form content. Both the features are now hidden behind a paywall.

X has not specified yet the time by which this change will be enforced, however, whenever it does, it will become the only social media platform to charge users for them to host a live stream. Other social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch allow users to livestream for free.

According to a recent post by the company’s ‘Live’ account, “Starting soon, only Premium subscribers will be able to live stream. This includes going live from an encoder with X integration.”

Apart from this, Elon Musk earlier had also said in April that X would soon start charging a $1 fee for new users who want to post on the platform. He added that users will have to pay this annual fee if they wish to use basic features such as bookmarking, replying, or liking posts.
