It has been announced that all electricity consumers receiving free subsidies in tamil Nadu should link their Aadhaar number with their electricity connection number. Since november 15, electricity consumers have been linking their Aadhaar numbers with their electricity connection numbers. It was said that the period for linking the Aadhaar number will end on december 31. After this, the period was extended from january 31 to february 15.
However, due to the fact that even then 7 lakh people had not linked their Aadhaar number, the deadline was extended till february 28. After this, the work of linking the Aadhaar number was done through the website and at the power board offices. For this purpose, 2,811 special camps and additional 2,811 mobile special camps were conducted at the Power Board offices across tamil Nadu.
It is said that 99 percent of people have linked their Aadhaar numbers so far. Today is the last day to link your Aadhaar number with your electricity connection number. The last time when the extension was given, the power board clearly said that no more time will be given. Therefore, the electricity department officials have requested the remaining power users to link their Aadhaar numbers today.
