Before your smartphone goes into someone else's hand, it is important that some precautions should be taken.

Often for some reason or the other, we change our smartphone in a year or two. In such a situation, sometimes sell the old phone or give it to some other knowledgeable person for use. Before doing this it is very important to keep some things in mind.

1. Contingency Contacts
If you use google Apps on your Android device, don't forget to back up your contacts. If your contacts aren't synced with your Gmail account, go to https://contacts.google.com/ to manually sync them.

2. Make a backup of your photos, videos, and other media.
You can either perform a cloud backup with google Photos, google Drive, microsoft One Drive, Dropbox, or another reputable cloud service, or you can store or transfer all of your media files to an external hard drive.
3. Prior to Factory Reset
Although a factory reset deletes everything on your smartphone, it does not log you out of your google accounts. In this case, you should log out of all google accounts before performing a factory reset.

Not only this, before factory reset, go to your phone's settings and also check whether your phone is encrypted or not. Encryption makes it difficult for anyone to access your phone's data. By the way, most of the Android phones already have the option of Encrypted locked.
4. Micro SD Card
If you are using microSD card in your phone, then definitely remove it before selling or giving it to anyone.
5. Perfect Presentation
If you are going to sell the phone on any website or anywhere else, then make sure to clean and pack the phone properly with all its accessories. With this you can get a good price for the phone and it can also be resell quickly.
