Loki is the most-watched Marvel Cinematic programme on Disney+, according to reports. Marvel Studios aired its first MCU series, WandaVision, in 2021, not long after Disney debuted its streaming platform in 2020, proving the universe's small screen transition a triumph. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, as well as Loki, continued the MCU's fourth stage on Disney+.

WandaVision referred to multiple universes, and Loki delves deeper into the concept of the multiverse and/or alternate timelines, which have previously been mentioned in films such as Thor: The Dark World (2013), doctor Strange (2016), and Avengers: Endgame (2019). During the Avengers' time heist in Endgame, a variation version of Loki (Tom Hiddleston) escapes with the Tesseract, and the series follows him. Agent Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilzon) enumerates the god of Mischief's help in chasing down the Goddess of Mischief, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), who poses a threat to the "holy" chronology and He Who Remains after being arrested by the administrative Time Variance Authority (TVA) (Jonathan Majors).

Loki is supposedly the most-watched MCU series on Disney+, in addition to having the most-watched premiere of any Disney+ show. THR reports that the series was seen for 5.24 billion minutes on Disney+, with WandaVision finishing in second with 4.9 billion minutes. Third and fourth place went to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (4.16 billion) and Hawkeye (3.46 billion). With 14.6 billion minutes seen outside of the MCU, The Mandalorian reigns supreme in a galaxy far, far away, followed by The Book of Boba Fett with 4.5 billion minutes.
