Season 2 of Disney+'s Loki will start shooting shortly, according to Owen Wilson. Following Avengers: Endgame's (2019) variant of the god of Mischief (Tom Hiddleston) after already being jailed by the Time Variance Authority (TVA), a governmental agency responsible with managing the flow of time, Loki escaped into the MCU's universe as part of Phase Four. Rather than being trimmed, Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) hired Loki to apprehend another variety, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino).

The TVA was revealed to be Loki's adversary in the end. As a result, Loki, Sylvie, and Mobius banded together to defeat the TVA's Time-Keepers. Loki and Sylvie met the true genius behind the TVA, He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), a version of the comic book villain Kang the Conqueror, after they were shown to be nothing more than mindless androids. He Who Remains presented the pair two options during the subsequent showdown: kill him, liberate the Sacred Timeline, unleash infinite devils, or take over his life's work.

Season 1 concluded on a cliffhanger, with a post-credits scene showing a case file with the words "Loki will return in season 2" imprinted on it. In a video for Wired, Owen Wilson answered some of the most frequently asked topics on the Internet. In response to the inquiry, ""Um... absolutely," Wilson answered when asked if Owen Wilson will return to Loki. He's returning to Loki, and I believe we'll start filming that very shortly. Working on Loki was a lot of fun. tom Hiddleston and the rest of the cast on that [episode] were fantastic."
