Dhoni not going to meet the CSK Officials on Oct 28th..!?
Every team in the IPL mega auction this year will have to provide information regarding player retention by october 31. bcci has brought back the uncapped rules so that every team can retain players who have not played for the indian team for 5 years for less money. With this, dhoni was bought by CSK for Rs. 4 crores can be retained. Now that the IPL 2025 mega auction is approaching, all eyes are on dhoni and the chennai Super Kings. dhoni, now 43, has yet to inform the CSK management whether he will play next year or not. CSK has won 5 titles so far under the leadership of Dhoni. dhoni relinquished his captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad before the start of IPL 2024. Despite the victory in the initial match, the chennai team suffered a series of defeats. Finished fifth despite missing out on a playoff spot.
Dhoni reportedly informed the CSK management that he would not be available for any meeting till october 28. So there are reports that the decision will be taken only after that. Each IPL team can retain a maximum of 6 players before the IPL 2025 mega auction. dhoni last played in the 2019 ODI world cup semi-final against New Zealand. Then he announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020. Currently, dhoni is not playing in any other tournament except IPL.
