Manu Bhaker Responds to Critics with Powerful Message and Medal Showcase


Indian shooter manu Bhaker has recently data-faced criticism for displaying her Olympic medals at public events, sparking a backlash from some who accused her of "showing off." In response, the 22-year-old took to social media to silence her detractors with a striking post featuring a collection of her medals and accolades.
With numerous gold medals from prestigious competitions such as the ISSF Shooting World Cup, World Championship, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games, Bhaker reflected on her journey in her post. "I was 14 when I started my journey in shooting. Never had I imagined I would reach this far," she wrote. She emphadata-sized the importance of pursuing dreams relentlessly, regardless of challenges.
Manu shared her aspiration to win an Olympic gold, stating, "Stay focused, stay driven, and let your passion fuel your journey. Every small step forward brings you closer to greatness." She also affirmed that her Olympic bronze medals are a source of pride, noting, "The two bronze medals I won at the paris 2024 olympics belong to India. Whenever I am invited to show these medals, I do it with pride. This is my way of sharing my beautiful journey."
As India's most successful female shooter, manu made history as the first indian woman to win an Olympic medal in shooting, securing individual bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event and again in the mixed team category with Sarabjot Singh.
Having begun her professional training after the Rio olympics in 2016, she represented india at the tokyo Games in 2021, where a pistol malfunction prevented her from reaching the final. Despite the ups and downs, manu Bhaker remains committed to her goals and continues to inspire many with her achievements.
