Neeraj Chopra Sends Best Wishes to indian Athletes for 2024 paris Paralympics


Olympic javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has extended his heartfelt wishes to the indian contingent participating in the 2024 paris Paralympics. The Games officially kick off today with the Opening Ceremony in Paris.


India is sending its largest-ever contingent to the Paralympics, with 84 para athletes set to compete from august 28 to september 9. Chopra took to X to post, “My best wishes to all the incredible indian athletes competing in the Paralympic Games which begin in paris today. Keep inspiring us!”


At the opening ceremony, sumit Antil and Bhagyashri Jadhav will proudly carry the indian flag. The country will be represented in 12 out of 22 sports, including debut events in para cycling, para judo, and para rowing.

India’s Paralympic campaign will commence on thursday with para archery, featuring tokyo Paralympics bronze medalist Harvinder Singh in the men’s recurve ranking round and Sarita in the women’s compound open category. In para badminton, Krishna nagar will defend his title in the SH6 men’s singles category, with Sivarajan Solaimalai and Nithya Sre Sivan also competing on the first day.


India has previously won 31 medals across the last 11 Paralympic Games. The tokyo 2020 Paralympics marked India’s most successful campaign to date, with athletes securing 19 medals—five gold, eight silver, and six bronze.
