BCCI Calls For Crucial Meeting With IPL Team Owners - All You Need To Know

As per the Cricbuzz report, IPL CEO Hemang Amin informed the franchise owners through a message on thursday morning, July 25, that they will receive an invitation for a formal meeting, along with details of the place and time.
The report claims that the meeting may be held in the afternoon or evening on July 31 and that the owners of all the franchises have confirmed their availability for the meeting.
Several key issues to be discussed in B CCI's meeting with IPL teams
According to the report, potential topics of discussion include increasing the duration of the mega auction to five years, allowing teams to retain four to six players, and giving each team the option of at least eight Right to Match (RTM) cards.
As per the Cricbuzz report, bcci might keep the number of retentions at either five or six. "The reasoning behind limiting retentions is that a higher number could diminish the excitement of the auction. If each team were to retain up to eight players, the top 80 players from around the world and india would be out of the auction, making the whole auction process a lackluster affair."
"The Right To Match (RTM) option is a contentious issue that may be debated at the meeting, although it's likely that the bcci has already decided on the matter," the report stated
