IND vs ENG: Umpire's decision... Shubman Gill escaped..!?
Shubman Gill, the third-row batsman of the indian Test team, kept his wicket in the first Test match against the england team despite a poor performance in the Tests. However, he managed to get out of the LBW once. In this match england team batted first and scored 246 runs. rohit sharma and jaiswal gave the indian team a solid start. rohit sharma was dismissed after scoring 24 runs. Next came Shubman Gill to bat in the third row.
While the rohit sharma - jaiswal pair had played an action game till then and had crossed 68 runs in all 10 overs, the next Shubman Gil-Pujara played a calm game and tested it. In the 14th over, when he was batting, England's spinner Rehan ahmed bowled. Shubman Gill came to block the ball. But the ball hit his feet. But Shubman Gill escaped because of DRS and the on-field umpire not giving out. At the end of the first day's play, the indian team scored 119 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. jaiswal scored 76 runs off 70 balls and Shubman Gill scored 14 runs off 43 balls. The indian team is 127 runs behind the england team.
