CSK has moved up to the sixth position in the IPL 2023 points table. rajasthan Royals have retained the top spot after winning the first match of the current IPL 2023 standings. Four-time champions chennai Super Kings (CSK) returned to winning ways with an impressive win over lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 6 of the indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at Cheppauk. Almost four years later, MS Dhoni's CSK played at Chennai's chepauk Stadium in a high-scoring match and KL Rahul's LSG was a treat for CSK fans.
First home game:
In the first home game of the new season at the MA chidambaram Stadium in chepauk, chennai batted first and posted a huge score. Having won four previous matches against lucknow, chennai won this match as well and maintained its unbeaten streak. The opening pair of Ruturaj Gaekwad and Devon Conway laid the foundations for a mammoth score in Cheppauk. Gaekwad's 57 off 31 balls, Conway's 47, and shivam Dubey (27) and ambati rayudu (27*) helped CSK to 217-7 in 20 overs. In reply, LSG managed just 205 runs for the loss of 7 wickets as rahul and Co lost the game in chepauk by 12 runs.

In the current IPL 2023 points table, rajasthan Royals have retained the top spot after winning the first match. Orange Cap:
CSK opener Gaekwad retained the top spot in the Orange Cap rankings after scoring back-to-back half-centuries in the league on Monday. Next to him in the Orange Cap rankings is Kyle Meyers. LSG opener Meyers scored 53 off 22 balls against CSK. They are followed by Tilak Verma, Virat Kohli, and Du Plessis who have played one match each.

Purple Cap:
England fast bowler Mark Wood has taken his wicket tally to 8 wickets in IPL 2023 and is the purple cap holder. Spinner ravi Bishnoi, who is second in the Purple Cap list, has piled up indian wickets. Next to LSG bowlers are yuzvendra chahal (4) and moeen ali (4) in this list.
