From the World Athletics championship 2022 starting today, 6 veterans including two indian athletes have withdrawn their names for different reasons. Kenya's long-distance runner Perez Jepchirchir has been ruled out of the tournament due to a hip injury.

Peres won the gold medal in tokyo 2020 and athletics fans were eyeing his action here too. His participation will surely disappoint the fans. 

Johannes Vetter is the second-star athlete to be ruled out of the 2022 World Athletics Championships. Due to his injury, he has distanced himself from many competitions and this time also he will be out of the World Athletics Championships. 

Last World Athletics Championships champion Sam Kendricks will not field to defend the pole vault title. The 29-year-old American athlete has been away from competitions since april and has not recovered from his knee injury. Apart from this, USA's hammer thrower Deanna Price has spoken of being out of the World Athletics Championships on her socila media post.

Due to her ankle surgery, she has been away from competitions and has not yet recovered from it. Apart from this, India's 400 meters runner Amoj Jacob and discus thrower seema Poonia have also been out of this championship. This is a big blow for indian fans. While Jacob will not be seen in action due to a hamstring injury, seema Poonia, on the other hand, withdrew from the competition to prepare for the Commonwealth Games.
