Ajmer Sharif should be declared Mahadev temple
Ajmer Sharif should be declared Mahadev temple…
A local court in Ajmer, rajasthan on wednesday refused to hear a petition seeking to declare the dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti as Lord Shri Sankatmochan Mahadev temple. It also said that it has no jurisdiction over it. Hindu Sena president vishnu Gupta had filed a petition in the court of civil judge through his lawyer. Gupta had claimed through his lawyer that this dargah is built on the ruins of the temple and hence it should be declared as Lord Shri Sankatmochan Mahadev temple.
This demand made in the petition
The petition also demands that the Act under which the dargah operates be declared invalid, Hindus be given the right to worship and the Archaeological survey of india (ASI) be directed to conduct a scientific survey of the place. Gupta's lawyer Shashi Ranjan said that the plaintiff has done research for two years and his findings are that there was a shiva temple there, which was destroyed by Muslim invaders and then a dargah was built. He said that the court of civil judge said that it is beyond their jurisdiction to hear this case. The next hearing of the case will be held on october 10. He said, 'I will file an application in the district court to transfer the case before the next hearing.'
Syed Sarwar Chishti condemned the case
On the other hand, Syed Sarwar Chishti, secretary of Anjuman Syed Zadgan, an organization representing the khadims of Ajmer Dargah, strongly condemned the case and called it a deliberate attempt to divide the society on communal lines. Chishti held a press conference in Ajmer and highlighted the spiritual significance of the dargah. He said the holy shrine of Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz in Ajmer is revered by Muslims and Hindus all over the world, especially in the indian subcontinent. There is no doubt that right-wing forces are aiming to isolate Muslims and spoil communal harmony by eyeing the Sufi shrine.
