Onam would be incomplete without a tempting Sadhya...

Over 25 different dishes are served at the onam Sadhya, a traditional feast prepared to celebrate the beginning of the harvest season. It includes dishes from all over kerala that are served on a banana leaf in predetermined portions and in a specific order.

Several restaurants are serving onam Sadhya in all its splendour to cater to non-Keralites who would like to partake in the grand feast and the Malayali community studying or working in the city who long for a taste of home. "We're elevating the onam experience by immersing our guests in a culturally rich environment and traditional music to set the festive mood," said Vinay Nair, General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton. Our hosts will also dress in traditional attire. The culinary team and our chef are eager to serve up dishes with genuine Keralan flavours. The dishes range from unique varieties of payasam that perfectly capture the festival's sweetness to classic favourites like pulissery, sambar, and a variety of other delicacies.

The restaurant has spread the availability of the holiday meal over two days in order to meet the high demand. "This extension is specifically intended to accommodate those who might find it difficult to participate in traditional Sadhya due to their hectic weekday schedules. There is clearly a high demand for this cultural experience, as evidenced by the large number of early inquiries we've received, Nair continued.

The multicourse meal can be prepared at home, but those who don't want to spend the time and effort can choose to order in and enjoy this opulent meal.
