The Department of Pension & Pensioners Welfare is set to bring relief to central government Employees retiring within the next 12 months through the organization of Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshops. These workshops aim to simplify the superannuation process for retiring employees and are considered a significant step towards enhancing the quality of life for pensioners.
To raise awareness and facilitate retiring employees, the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions will conduct sessions on various topics through platforms like Bhavishya Portal, Integrated Pensioners Portal, Retirement Benefits, Family Pension, CGHS, Income Tax Rules, Anubhav, wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital Life Certificate, Investment Modes, and Opportunities. The objective is to guide retiring central employees on the processes and forms to be completed before retirement, as well as enlighten them about the benefits they will receive post-retirement.
Participating banks in the workshop include SBI, PNB, bank of Baroda, and ICICI bank, all of which are pension disbursing banks. These banks will share valuable information about pension-related banking services, guiding retiring employees on how to open a pension account and providing insights into the investment of the pension corpus.
The upcoming workshop, scheduled for march 5, 2024, will take place in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with an expected participation of 300 central employees set to retire within the next 12 months. The Ministry anticipates significant benefits for central employees, emphasizing that these workshops data-align with the principles of good governance. The Department of Pension & Pensioners Welfare is committed to organizing similar workshops to facilitate retiring central employees, ensuring they are well-informed about post-retirement decisions made by the government, enabling them to make informed choices for their retirement.
