PM Modi mammoth plan to link 60 rivers
After years of this river linking scheme now our PM Modi has come to a decision to put a fullstop to all droughts and floods.This is possible only if a mammoth plan like river linking is done .PM Modi has planned for $87 billion (Rs. 5,55,593 crore) scheme to connect some of the country's largest rivers
The mammoth plan is designed to link nearly 60 rivers, including the mighty holy Ganges, which the government positively hopes will swat away farmers cries and dependence on fickle monsoon rains and thus by bringing millions of hectares of cultivatable land under irrigation.
Prime Minister Modi has personally taken lead and pushed through initial clearances for the first phase of the project
.Not only this project wipes farmer cries it is also planned to generate thousands of
megawatts of electricity.
That will involve construction of an new dam on the Ken river, also known as the by the
other name Karnavati, which is in in
north-central India and a 22-km (14-mile) canal and connecting it to the
shallow Betwa
