The Newspaper carried pics of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. This is a real rare memorabilia which should be preserved and every one should be proud of as it represents our heard earned freedom which is the result of innumerable sacrifices of many great freedom fighters after 200 of years of slavery.

One more interesting thing to note is that the Newspaper that day costs 'One Anna'. For those who do not know Anna is one-sixteenth of a rupee which means the Newspapers sold today (5 Rupees each) are costing 80 times more. This is one example of how our lives have changed in all these years after Independence.
