Pathirana left the CSK team..!? What happened? 


Chennai Super Kings' key fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana has decided to retire halfway through the 2024 IPL. He has posted a post about it on his social media page. CSK fans are shocked after this. Pathirana has been the main fast bowler of the chennai Super Kings team in the IPL series for the last two years. Dhoni was strapped in and his bowling improved. He was the top wicket-taker for CSK for two years and was instrumental in the team winning the IPL trophy last year. Similarly, fans expected him to play an important role in the CSK team in the 2024 IPL series as well. However, he was unable to play in the first two matches due to injury. 

After that, he played matches for CSK. He has missed a few matches due to minor injuries in between/ played only six matches at this stage and has now decided to retire from the IPL altogether. It has been reported that the Sri Lankan cricket organization has advised him to withdraw from the IPL series as he is said to have had a muscle spasm. After this, he left the CSK team and went to sri lanka for treatment. It is noteworthy that he took 13 wickets in six matches. 

Despite performing well, he has been sidelined by injury. In a post on his social media page, he said, "It's a difficult time to say goodbye. I hope to see the 2024 IPL trophy in the CSK team room soon. I am very proud to have the blessings and love of the CSK team fans." CSK team's chance for playoffs yet. With three more league matches to play, CSK can only qualify for the playoffs if they win all three. The absence of key fast bowler Pathirana at this stage is the biggest setback for the team.
