Directive to Provide ORS Free of CostIn response to the rising heat, authorities have ordered that Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) be provided free of cost to the public in all government healthcare facilities. This step aims to prevent dehydration and heat-related illnesses among people.
Focus on Preventing Heat-Related IllnessesThe intense heatwave conditions have increased the risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke. The health Department emphadata-sized that easy access to ORS can play a crucial role in maintaining hydration levels, especially for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and outdoor workers.
Instructions to government HospitalsAll government hospitals have been directed to maintain adequate stock of ORS packets and ensure uninterrupted supply. Medical staff have also been advised to closely monitor patients showing symptoms of heat stress and provide timely treatment.
