Chandrababu Naidu Built Dairy Empire From Rs 7,000
Naidu’s wealth is particularly noteworthy as it stems from heritage foods Ltd, a company he founded in 1992 during India’s dairy sector liberalization. Starting with a mere Rs 7,000 in paid-up capital, heritage went public in 1994, achieving remarkable success with an IPO that was oversubscribed 54 times, raising Rs 6.5 crore. Over three decades, the company has transformed into a pan-India brand, collaborating with nearly 300,000 dairy farmers and expanding its presence across 17 states. It has achieved significant turnover milestones, reaching Rs 100 crore by FY2000 and projected to hit Rs 4,000 crore by FY2025. The market capitalization of heritage has skyrocketed from Rs 25 crore in 1995 to an estimated Rs 4,500 crore in 2025, peaking at Rs 6,755 crore in mid-2024.
Despite facing political challenges—including electoral losses and the bifurcation of andhra pradesh in 2014—Naidu has maintained a forward-thinking leadership style, emphasizing technology and innovation in governance. Under the stewardship of his wife, Nara Bhuvaneswari, who took over heritage in 1994, the company has upheld ethical growth without relying on state concessions.
In contrast, West bengal Chief minister Mamata Banerjee has the lowest declared assets at Rs 15.38 lakh, highlighting the stark disparities in wealth among India’s political leaders.
