Ghonda assembly constituency is a part of North east Delhi lok sabha constituency. It is a prosperous residential area. On one hand, some posh areas of Yamuna vihar and Bhajanpura come here, while most of the rest of the companies come under the regularized category. All these colonies have a mixed population. Where the number of Hindu voters is the highest, while there are only about 10 percent Muslim voters. The special thing about this assembly is that there is not a single slum here.
bjp has dominated the Ghonda seat and in the last election too, bjp had registered a spectacular victory from here. This time also bjp has given a chance to ajay Mahawar, the winner of the last election, while AAP has bet on gaurav sharma instead of Shridutt Sharma, while congress has been giving ticket to Bhishma Sharma continuously since 1998, this time too it has kept faith in him. Bhishma Sharma has been successful in getting congress victory twice in the elections held since 1993, in 1998 and 2003, while this seat has been in the name of aam aadmi party once in 2015 and Shridutt Sharma got this victory. At the same time, bjp has maintained its dominance here by winning four out of 7 elections including the last election.

This seat was in the name of bjp in the year 1993 (Lal Bihari Tiwari), 2008-2013 (Sahab Singh Chauhan) and 2020 (Ajay Mahawar). Talking about the last two elections, in 2015, Shridutt Sharma of AAP got 60,906 votes here, while Sahab Singh Chauhan of bjp managed to get 52,813 votes and he had to data-face defeat by 8,093 votes at the hands of AAP candidate, while Bhishma Sharma of congress was at third place. But after this, in the 2020 elections, bjp made a comeback here and ajay Mahawar, who got 81,797 votes, defeated Shridutt Sharma of AAP, who got 53,427 votes, by a huge margin of 28,370 votes.

Where the total number of voters is 2,23,761. Out of these, the highest number of 59,532 voters are in the age group of 39-40 years. The number of voters between 40-49 years is 54,121.
