Pregnant woman trapped under MEMU train in Supaul

A woman became a victim of an accident on monday (06 January, 2025) morning at Nirmali railway station in Supaul, Bihar. The 23-year-old pregnant woman got trapped under the Laheriyasarai-Saharsa MEMU train at around 8:30 am, due to which she was also seriously injured. The woman has been identified as Sarita Kumari, wife of satya Narayan Kumar, resident of Naya Gram Tengri of Lalitgram police station area. After the incident, with the help of RPF and local people, the woman was safely pulled out from under the train in a rescue operation that lasted for about 35 minutes.

Woman's life saved with the help of people

Nirmali HPS college student krishna and a play school director Mohammad Aashiq took the risk and saved the woman trapped under the train. Both of them tried their best to get the woman out without wasting any time. krishna said that he reached the station as soon as he got information about the incident, while Mohammad Aashiq was travelling in the same train. Station master Manoj Kumar, STBA assistant Mujibul Rehman and RPF officer hari Narayan Chaudhary, who were present at the railway station, played an important role. The woman was taken out by moving the train forward and backward. Due to the accident, the train which reached the station at 8:34, was sent off at 9:15.

The woman was admitted to DMCH

Dr. Vijay Kumar and GNM reena Kumari gave primary treatment to the woman at Nirmali Hospital. Dr. Vijay Kumar said that the woman has suffered serious injuries in the left thigh and waist. After primary treatment, she was referred to Darbhanga Medical college and Hospital (DMCH). The woman's father-in-law Nandlal Singh said that his daughter-in-law is eight months pregnant. She was going to Supaul for treatment, but at Saraigarh station, she had to get down at Nirmali station because she boarded a train going to Darbhanga instead of Supaul. While changing trains, the woman slipped and fell under the train. The accident could have turned into a major disaster, but with the help of local people, railway administration and passengers, the woman's life was saved.
