Seized power for the third consecutive time

This move of bjp did not work in the lok sabha elections and it lost five out of 10 seats to the congress, but it definitely benefited it in the assembly elections held in october and it captured power for the third consecutive time. Out of 90 seats in the haryana assembly, bjp won 48 seats while congress won only 37.

ajay Chautala had to data-face defeat

The aam aadmi party (AAP) was wiped out, it did not get a single seat. In march, the alliance of ajay Chautala-led Jannayak Janata party with bjp broke and it had to data-face defeat in the assembly elections as well. At the same time, congress leader and mp from Sirsa Kumari Selja seemed angry with the party for giving a free hand to her arch rival Bhupendra Singh Hooda in ticket distribution for the assembly elections.

Vinesh Phogat won from Julana

But one new player who won even after losing was Olympic player Vinesh Phogat. Vinesh was disqualified for being overweight in the paris Olympics and could not play the final match for the gold medal. A few weeks later, she joined the congress and also won from Julana. Fellow wrestler Bajrang Punia also joined the congress with her, but he did not contest the election.
