Nana Patole, Aditya Thackeray and 105 MLAs took oath!
The three-day special session of the Legislative assembly in maharashtra began on Saturday. The newly elected MLAs took oath on the first and second day of the session. On sunday (8 December), 105 members took oath as MLAs in the maharashtra Legislative Assembly. While 173 MLAs took oath on Saturday. The remaining 9 MLAs are to take oath on Monday. All were sworn in by the Pro-Tem Speaker.
This session has been organized for the oath taking of MLAs and the election of a full-time speaker. MLAs of opposition parties boycotted the swearing-in ceremony on Saturday, the first day of the three-day special session of the Legislative assembly, alleging misuse of EVMs in the recently held state elections.
These leaders of the opposition faction took oath
Some MLAs including congress leaders Nana Patole, Vijay Wadettiwar, amit Deshmukh, Nationalist congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar leader Jitendra Awhad and Shiv Sena-Uddhav bala Saheb thackeray (Ubatha) leader Aditya thackeray took oath soon after the house proceedings began today. On Saturday, 173 MLAs took oath while nine absent MLAs will take oath on Monday.
First protest, then opposition took oath
Many first-time MLAs took oath on sunday and a crowd of their family members was also seen in the Vidhan Bhavan premises during the ceremony. Sharad Pawar's grandson Rohit Pawar has also taken oath today. After taking oath, Rohit Pawar said that yesterday we had a symbolic protest and if we had not taken oath, how would we have raised people's questions. If we had not taken oath, the ruling party would have done whatever came to their mind. Today we have taken oath to control them. Nana Patole said that they are raising the issue of the public because they believe that the new government has not been elected due to their votes.
