Chhath Puja-business worth Rs 12 thousand crore expected!!!
During the four-day Chhath Puja festival starting from Nahai-Khai on november 5 yesterday and continuing till november 8, people of Purvanchal settled in other states of the country apart from bihar and jharkhand are fully prepared to perform Chhath Puja with great enthusiasm and excitement. According to an estimate, more than 15 crore people across the country will participate in Chhath Puja, which includes women, men, youth and children. Confederation of All india Traders (CAT) is releasing the sales figures for every festival of this year. Releasing the sales figures of Chhath Puja today, CAT said that business worth more than Rs 12 thousand crore is expected across the country on the festival of Chhath Puja. Chhath Puja is considered the biggest festival of indian folk culture.
A large number of people from Purvanchal live in all parts of delhi and for the last many years, Chhath festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm in delhi and Chhath Puja is performed with full rituals at hundreds of places. In delhi, the markets of chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar, Model Town, Ashok vihar, adarsh Nagar, Azadpur, Shalimar Bagh, Pitampura, rani Bagh, Paschim vihar, Uttam Nagar, Tilak Nagar, Kalkaji, Greater Kailash, Preet vihar, Shahdara, Loni Road, Laxmi Nagar, Vikas Marg, yamuna Vihar, anand vihar etc. are bustling with people buying Chhath Puja material.
CAT National President Mr. B.C. Bhartia said that apart from bihar and jharkhand, this festival is also celebrated with great enthusiasm in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, delhi, Odisha, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and madhya pradesh because a large number of people from Purvanchal work in all these states and earn their livelihood. It is the culture and civilization of india that during Chhath Puja, the setting sun is worshipped first along with the rising sun, which clearly shows that everyone is with the rising sun but the people of india also support the setting sun and find happiness in that too.
According to CAT, the materials used in Chhath Puja include bamboo soup, banana leaves, sugarcane, sweets, fruits and vegetables, especially coconut, apple, banana and green vegetables. On the occasion of Chhath Puja, there has been a huge purchase of traditional clothes for women, such as saree, lehenga-chunni, salwar kurta and kurta-pyjama, dhoti etc. for men, which has benefited the local traders and has also strengthened the small and cottage industries, while there is a huge sale of goods made on a small scale at home.
