HC strict on stopping the salary of contract worker?

An employee of the health Department of Uttar Pradesh has made the entire government drink water. After not getting salary for the last 6 months, this employee had filed a petition in the high court against the government, on which hearing, the court reprimanded Principal Secretary women Welfare and Child Development Leena Johri and ordered to release his salary before november 11. Rejecting the affidavit of the Principal Secretary, the high court said that you are not able to discharge your responsibility properly.

In fact, Sudhir Kumar Yadav, who lives in Basti, was appointed on contract in the health Department under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandan Yojana. On june 8, 2023, the then Chief Secretary adjusted the post of Human Literacy Specialist in relation to the provisions posts in the hub. Honorarium was given continuously by the health Department from 2018 to june 2023. But, after adjustment, the women Welfare Department paid the salary on the basis of attendance from July 23 to march 24.

Petitioner's salary stopped

Sudhir Yadav's salary was stopped from april 24 without any reason. Distressed by this, he approached the High Court. On august 29, 2024, the high court, while hearing the case, directed to pay the salary within three weeks and said that if for any reason this is not possible, then the DM, district Program Officer, CMO Basti should file a personal affidavit. His salary was not given even on the order of the court.

An affidavit was given in the court on behalf of the government, on which the hearing was held again on 26 september 2024 and the court expressed its displeasure and rejected the affidavit. The court directed the women Development Department to pay the salary before october 4 and said that if this does not happen, then judicial process will be adopted for the recovery of the salary. But still the petitioner did not get the salary.
