India's blunt reply to Bangladesh over attack on Dhaka Puja Mandap!
india has expressed serious concern over the attack on the Puja Mandap in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka and the theft in the Jeshoreshwari kali temple in Satkhira, bangladesh and termed them as "hateful acts". india has urged the bangladesh government to ensure the safety of Hindus and all minorities as well as their places of worship. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir jaiswal said in a statement, "We have expressed serious concern over the attack on the Puja Mandap in Tantibazaar, Dhaka and the theft in the prestigious Jeshoreshwari kali temple in Satkhira." india described these incidents as following a fixed pattern and demanded the bangladesh government to ensure the safety of Hindus, minorities and places of worship.
'Attacks are following a systematic pattern'
He further said, "These are reprehensible incidents. They follow a systematic pattern of desecrating and damaging temples and deities, which we have been seeing for the last several days." The statement of the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs came after the incident of 'crude bomb' being thrown at a durga puja pavilion in Tantibazaar area of Old Dhaka. According to the Bangladesh-based Prothomalo report, the bomb caught fire and there were no casualties in the incident.
'Hindus' safety should be taken care of'
Calling for the safety of Hindus and all minorities, jaiswal said, "We call upon the government of bangladesh to ensure the safety of Hindus and all minorities and their places of worship, especially during this auspicious festival." According to Prothomalo's report, the police have found a bomb made by filling petrol in a glass bottle. The incident took place on friday at around 7 pm (local time). According to locals, a group of youths from the street next to the Puja pavilion threw the bottle aiming at the altar. When the volunteers ran after the attackers, they were attacked with knives.
