Will other schemes be closed due to Ladli Behan Yojana?
The maharashtra government said on thursday that no other scheme of financial assistance will be closed due to the 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana'. A statement issued by the Eknath Shinde government after a cabinet meeting denied reports that help to the families of farmers in case of suicide would be stopped. Under the 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana' scheme, Rs 4,887 crore has been deposited in the bank accounts of 1.59 crore women so far. The scheme aims to provide benefits to 2.5 crore women. After the deadline for enrollment of the scheme expired, it has been extended till september 30. Under this scheme, Rs 1500 is deposited every month in the bank account of eligible women. This scheme has been started in the state just before the assembly elections.
What was said by the Shinde government?
In the information released by the government after the cabinet meeting of the maharashtra government, it was said that other schemes will not be stopped due to the Ladli Behan Yojana. The news of stopping the assistance given to farmer families is also wrong. In case of suicide of farmers, the help to their families has not been stopped anywhere. There is adequate provision available for this and when there is no provision, the minus authority facility is used to avoid inconvenience.
Let us tell you that on Tuesday, the government had issued a government resolution to stop the approval of emergency fund to help the family of farmers who committed suicide. The circular of this order was sent to all divisional commissioners and district collectors. Under the scheme, the families of farmers who committed suicide are given a financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh by the state government.
The Revenue Department had decided to stop it. After the new circular, the political atmosphere in the state has heated up. The opposition is accusing the maharashtra government that this decision has been taken against the farmers because of the 'Mukhyamantri Ladki Behan Yojana'. The government has withdrawn the decision after the protest.
