The police of Beed district of maharashtra have registered a case against bharatiya janata party (BJP) mla Nitesh Rane for allegedly targeting Muslims in his recent speeches in Ahmednagar district. Including the latest FIR, at least four such cases have been registered against the mla in the state. The Parli city police of the district registered a case against Rane after more than 300 people from the Muslim community demonstrated outside the police station on wednesday demanding action, the official said.

The official said that a 'Zero FIR' has been registered in Beed district under sections 302 (hurting religious sentiments), 351-2 (criminal intimidation) and 353-2 (statements promoting public mischief) of the indian Penal Code (BNS). He said that later the case was transferred to Topkhana police station in Ahmednagar district for further investigation. Earlier, two cases were registered against Nitesh Rane at Topkhana and Shrirampur police stations in Ahmednagar district for alleged hate speech.
