ISRO has agreed with NASA's accredited Axiom. Two
indians will travel to the
international Space Station in collaboration with the US Space Agency. In 2023, during PM Modi's visit to the US, the ISRO-NASA joint venture agreement to send
indians to space was signed. Accordingly,
isro has agreed with NASA's accredited Axiom.
Subhanshu Shukla and
prashant Balakrishnan Nair have been nominated to travel to the
international Space Station. Both are group captains who are training on the Gaganyaan mission to send
indians into space. The training of the two astronauts will begin in the first week of August.
As part of the framework,
nasa and
isro astronauts in the
international Space Station will collaborate for the first time to provide advanced training to
isro astronauts at the
nasa Johnson Space Center. Following the iCET Dialogue between National Security Advisors Ajit Doval and Jake Sullivan of the US, the US and
india released a fact sheet titled "Celebrating the conclusion of a Strategic Framework for Human Spaceflight Cooperation to deepen interoperability in space and work toward commencing advanced training for
isro astronauts at the
nasa Johnson Space Center."
Two
indian astronauts, one of whom is scheduled to go to the
international Space Station (ISS) later this year, will get training assistance from NASA. S Somanath, the chairman of
isro, had previously stated that
isro is expected to choose four astronauts for training.
india will construct the Bharatiya Antariksha Station, a space station that will be run by the
indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
