Tamil Nadu government has announced that 24 crore 50 lakh rupees will be allocated to provide job opportunities under the mahatma gandhi National Employment Guarantee Scheme in order to compensate the loss of employment to those engaged in agricultural work in the delta districts.

In a statement released by Agriculture minister MRK Panneer Selvam, mettur dam water, which is filled with monsoon rains, is traditionally opened on june 12 for the cultivation of paddy in the Cauvery delta districts of tamil Nadu. This year 2024 there is not enough water in mettur dam due to the delay of monsoon due to unforeseen circumstances.There has been a delay in opening the water for delta cultivation. Although this causes great heartache, the chief minister of tamil Nadu has given orders for the benefit of the farmers to provide the Kurvai Cultivation Package worth Rs.Kuruvai Cultivation Special Collection1,00,000 for an area of lakh acres. 2.000 metric tonnes of paddy seeds will be provided at subsidized cost of Rs 3.85 crore through Agricultural Extension Centres. The tamil Nadu government will provide Rs.40 crore as a subsidy for planting paddy machinery at the rate of Rs.4,000 per acre and for an area of 1 lakh acres. 15 lakh will be provided for distribution of rice micronutrient mixture at 50 per cent subsidy in 7,500 acres of micronutrient deficient area. Besides, in zinc deficient areas, application of zinc sulphate fertilizer at the rate of Rs 250 per acre. 62 lakhs and 50 thousand rupees for an area of 25 thousand acres. 62 lakh 50 thousand rupees will be given as subsidy at the rate of 250 rupees per acre for the use of gypsum in 25 thousand acres.Subsidized seedsFor cultivation of pulses in 10.000 acres, apply quality seeds, pseudomonas, liquid biofertilizers and foliar fertilization at 50% subsidy. 1 crore 20 lakhs and Rs 20 lakhs to provide micronutrients to 10,000 acres at 50 per cent subsidy to increase the yield potential of pulse crops.Power plowing through Agricultural Engineering Department. Weeding tool. Seed and Fertilizer Equipment, Machine Plow, Rotary Plough.
