Eelection Manifesto and environment – let’s know…

This time, many major parties have included these issues in their election manifestos with strict terminology, including the ruling bjp, the main opposition Congress, the Communist party and the Trinamool Congress. In particular, bjp has given proper place to the burning issues related to environment, climate change and sustainable development with great technical expertise. Be it the issue of millet related to farming, sustainable economic development, goals related to energy like bio energy, solar energy and renewable energy, transportation related to urban development, e-vehicle, water management, Mission Life, Namami Gange. And by including all the issues related to river basin management, Ho seems to be raising the issue of environment and climate change prominently.

At the same time, Congress, under whose rule most of the environment related laws have been passed, has also this time given place to environment, climate, disaster and water management as 20 separate promises and a separate authority has been created to prevent the climate crisis. Has promised to create more funds.   The Communist party has kept the issue of climate right in line with its ideology. All the parties which have included environment in their manifesto have one thing in common that they have given this issue the last place.

bjp is the ruling party and has given a comprehensive place to the issues of climate, environment etc. in its manifesto in a scientific manner, so this time the absence of 'river linking project' there seems to be a major thing. Whereas bjp had been advocating the river interlinking project since the time of Bajpayee ji's government and after coming to power in 2014, it was also being implemented in the form of Ken-Betwa river link.   However, river linking project is not considered an environment friendly project in any respect and if in principle bjp has excluded it from its objective then it will be called a good announcement.
