Manish Sisodia's bail plea rejected, permission to meet wife once a week

Delhi Liquor Policy Case: Judicial custody of former delhi Deputy cm manish Sisodia has been extended till May 31. He was arrested on 26 february 2023 in a money laundering case related to liquor policy.

Manish Sisodia has received a big blow from the delhi high court in the money laundering case related to delhi Liquor Policy. The court has rejected the bail plea of Sisodia. Earlier, the high court had reserved the decision while hearing on april 14. However, the high court has upheld the lower court's decision to meet the wife once a week.

The high court refused to grant relief to manish Sisodia in both the cbi and ED cases. The court said that Sisodia is an influential person, if he gets bail then the possibility of him influencing witnesses or tampering with evidence cannot be ruled out. The court also said that CBI-ED cannot be held responsible for the delay in the trial.

Judicial custody extended till 31 May

At the same time, Delhi's Rouse Avenue court has extended the judicial custody of manish Sisodia and others till May 31. Sisodia has been in custody since february 26 last year after the cbi arrest. After this he was arrested by ED. On May 15, delhi court had extended his custody till May 30 in the same case.

Last week, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed its eighth chargesheet before a special court. In this, aam aadmi party (AAP) and its national convenor arvind kejriwal were made accused. A total of 18 people have been arrested so far in the case. These include arvind kejriwal, manish Sisodia, BRS leader K Kavita and many others.
