Samajwadi party has given ticket to Babu Singh Kushwaha on this seat. Kushwaha has been a cabinet minister in mayawati government. Talking about caste equations, there are more than nineteen and a half lakh voters in Jaunpur lok sabha constituency, in which the highest number is of Brahmins. The population of Brahmins is 15.72 percent and the population of Rajputs is 13.30 percent.
